The first legal marijuana dispensary in Upstate New York opened on Feb. 10 in Binghamton. The store, Just Breathe, is located at 75 Court St. and is owned and operated via a partnership between Damien Cornwell and Broome County Urban League. Just Breathe was one of 36 retailers who received marijuana dispensing licenses from the state last November.
Just Breathe provides cannabis in the form of flowers, pre-rolls, vaporizers and edibles. Available brands include Ayrloom, Back Home Farm, Florist Farms and Lobo. Cornwell has been selling hemp-derived products since July 2021 through On Point Cannabis.
The business is the third dispensary to open in the state, but the first to open outside of New York City. The Finger Lakes Region remains unable to receive retail cannabis licenses; Binghamton is about 50 miles from Ithaca.
